Girl Scout Program Age Levels

Daisy Girl Scouts
Grades K-1: ages 5-6
Daisy Girl Scouts make new friends; explore their world through activities ranging from music, art, and science. Girls can use an activity scrapbook and storybook as they complete their activities. Daisy Girl Scouts do projects with older Girl Scouts and may also attend summer day camp. Daisy Girl Scouts wear a special Daisy Girl Scout pin. Daisy Girl Scouts do not participate in
product sale programs.

Brownie Girl Scouts
Grades 1-3: ages 6-8
Brownie Girl Scouts work on recognitions called "Try-Its" where they try new things such as dancing, arts and crafts, and math and science activities. They participate in service projects, overnights, and the Girl Scout product sale programs. Brownie Girl Scouts use a Brownie Girl Scout Handbook and a Try-It Book which includes many activities and requirements for all the "Try-Its".

Junior Girl Scouts
Grades 3-6: ages 8-11
Junior Girl Scouts work on badges and signs in many areas such as music, math, science, outdoor fun, art, and business. Junior Girl Scouts conduct service projects in their community, and begin leadership skills. They can attend overnight camps and trips. They may also participate in the Girl Scout product sale programs. Junior Girl Scouts use a handbook and the Girl Scout Badges and Signs Book.

Cadette Girl Scouts
Grades 6-9, ages 11-14
Cadette Girl Scouts may earn badges and interest project patches that demonstrate their skills in many different activities. Girls also begin leadership training opportunities and career exploration activities. They work on long term projects such as special trips and service projects. Cadette Girl Scouts apply their knowledge to receive recognitions such as the Silver Award, challenge pins, service bars, and leadership awards.

Senior Girl Scouts
Grades 9-12, ages 14-17
Senior Girl Scouts may earn interest project patches, service bars and leadership awards. Advanced career exploration, leadership development opportunities and community service result in many recognitions including the highest award in Girl Scouting -
the Girl Scout Gold Award.

Studio 2B
Grades 6-12, ages 11-17
Studio 2B is a brand new opportunity for teen girls to: go places, try new things, and do fun stuff with old and new friends, take action in your community on a project you care about, discuss issues important to you and get advice from people you can trust, and hang out in your own space in your own way. You can participate in Studio 2B while you are involved in a Cadette or Senior Troop. You can do either or, or both! Studio 2B girls work on Focus Books and earn charms for a charm bracelet instead of badges.
Studio 2B is BGFG (by girls for girls).

Juliettes
Grades K-12, ages 5-17
Juliette Girl Scouts participate in Girl Scouting on an individual basis. They are sometimes called Individual Girl Members or IGM’s. They are entitled to participate in all scheduled camp activities and council wide events. They may work on appropriate age level awards on an individual basis. Girls of the Brownie age and older may participate in the product sale programs. They may decide to attend some troop meetings but are not required to do so.
